Lightning Spring Hockey

Welcome to the Lightning 2026 Spring Development Program!

Lightning spring players are offered regular game playing experience that includes 8 league games during April and May. Our teams have regular practice times twice per week. Spring is also a great opportunity to get to know our players and coaches.

Eligibility

Players that are entering their Freshman year through Senior year in Fall 2026 are eligible to play high school spring.

Our schools include Lake Park, South Elgin, Bartlett, and Dundee Crown high schools.

Seniors graduating in 2026 are not eligible.

Evaluations

Player evaluations will take place at the following times:

March 17th 6:50pm @West Meadows

March 19th 6:50pm @West Meadows

COST

$650 Skater

$325 Goalie

Sibling discount of $50 per player for families with more than 1 player in the program

Practices

Each player can expect 2 practices per week over 8 weeks.

Practices will be:

Tuesdays 6:50pm @West Meadows, or

Wednesdays 8:00pm @Sports Complex, or

Thursdays 6:50pm @West Meadows

***Final practice dates/times will depend on team placement.

Games

Each team will play 8 spring league games against other high school clubs in the Illinois High School North Central Hockey League.

League games typically start right after spring break.

Jerseys

Players’ spring fees include both home (white) and away (navy) Lightning practice jerseys; these will be worn in spring league games.
