Meet Our Coaches

Coach Vecchione brings over 20 years of experience in the game of hockey, both as a player and a coach. A proud alumni of Lake Park High School, he played three seasons with the Lake Park hockey team before advancing to compete at the junior Tier AA-AAA levels for 2 years.

Following his playing career, Coach Vecchione dedicated himself to developing the next generation of players and spent 6 years coaching in Illinois travel/High School hockey.

For several seasons, Coach Vecchione has continued as varsity coach for Lake Park Hockey Club and then Lightning, where he leads with a passion for the game, a commitment to teamwork, and a focus on building a strong, disciplined hockey culture.

Coach Vasilevich brings over 20 years of hockey experience to the program.

A product of Illinois hockey, he played 13 seasons at high-level travel leagues before representing Lake Park High School for three seasons. He continued his career at the collegiate level (ACHA) where he played four years of hockey at Central Michigan University. 

As JV coach since 2024, he focuses on fundamentals, discipline, and teamwork with the goal of preparing players for success at the varsity level and beyond.

Coach Barker also brings over 20 years of hockey experience to the program.  He has been coaching with the Lightning since 2024 and was with the Northwest Chargers prior to that.

Also a former high school player, he goal-tended for the PREP program and was named the first ever goalie captain, followed by a year at competing in the ACHA for Robert Morris University.
