Summer Skates
Lightning summer skates are held throughout the summer to provide players with regular ice time to practice their skating and skills as well as stay connected their teammates and coaches.
Eligibility
Summer Skates are open to players entering 9th through 12th grade at Lake Park, South Elgin, Bartlett, or Dundee Crown high schools.
Players do not need to have previously played for Lightning as long as they meet the above criteria.
Where & When
Summer Skates will take place at West Meadows Ice Arena and begin in early June.
Current schedule is as follows:
June:
4th, 11th, 18th - 7:00pm
28th - 4:50pm
July:
6th, 13th, 20th, 27th - 7:00pm
August:
4th & 6th - 6:50pm

Summer Skates 2026
Keep active throughout the summer with on-ice training practices designed to enhance player skills and performance . These coach led sessions will focus on refining fundamentals through drills and game situational scenarios.
